Quarantine/Isolation
Who can parents/guardians contact if they need support for their student while in Quarantine/Isolation Housing?
If your student needs assistance while in quarantine or isolation housing, reach out to one of our Hub Desks. In case of emergency, please call UPD at 662-915-4911 or dial 911.
Are there quarantine and isolation housing options for students?
Yes, Student Housing will continue to offer limited quarantine and isolation housing to students who are living on campus and have been exposed to and/or test positive for COVID-19.
Am I allowed to have guests during my isolation or quarantine period?
Visitation is strictly prohibited while a student is being housed in quarantine or isolation housing.
If someone on my floor tests positive for COVID-19, what am I expected to do?
Unless you are contacted by The Department of Student Housing or if you are identified and contacted by someone who has tested positive COVID-19 there is nothing you need to do.
What resources are available for students in quarantine or isolation housing?

Who will be checking on a student that is in quarantine or isolation housing?
Students will receive communication from Student Housing with information and resources. Students in quarantine or isolation housing should check their Ole Miss Gmail regularly for information and updates. What steps does a student need to take to return to their fall/spring room assignment?

Health and Safety
Will Student Housing be providing any added cleaning in public spaces and bathrooms?
Student Housing will provide frequent cleaning of high-touch and public areas, including bathrooms, throughout the day. Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be supplied in lobbies and throughout the buildings.
Are students required to wear masks in the residence halls?

Where can residents get a mask?
Each residence hall front desk will have a limited supply of disposable masks.
Will visitation be allowed in the residence halls?
Yes, regular visitation will resume for fall 2021. Based on the spread of the virus on campus and in the community Student Housing will update students on any changes to the visitation policy.
What if my roommate contracts COVID-19?
Please contact your assigned fall residence hall front desk to report any COVID-19 exposure.
What is Student Housing doing to ensure that all residents adhere to UM’s health and safety protocols?
It takes all of us working together to maintain a healthy living environment. We ask all residents to inform their in-hall Housing staff of anyone who is not abiding by the University of Mississippi’s COVID-19 guidelines.
