Room Consolidation

While students, in most cases, are afforded the opportunity to choose their own bedspaces, the Department of Student Housing reserves the right to relocate and consolidate students to maximize occupancy.

Consolidation occurs during room selection and after each semester begins as residence hall and apartment vacancies are evaluated. Once the semester begins, residents who live in double or triple rooms without roommates will have two options: find a roommate or have a roommate assigned.

Because opposite genders cannot occupy the same room, suite, or apartment, this includes consolidating spaces of same-gendered residents during the booking process to make available additional spaces for the opposite gender.
