As you are aware, in response to the rapidly evolving situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the University of Mississippi has extended spring break until Sunday, March 22, 2020. In addition, beginning Monday, March 23 and until further notice, the university will hold all classes and related coursework online or via methods other than in-person, on-campus instruction.

Per guidance from University administration and the State of Mississippi, students are expected to stay away from campus during this period of extended spring break and while online coursework is offered to promote social distancing and minimize the risk of spreading the virus. All Student Housing residence halls, residential colleges, and apartments will be open beginning on Sunday, March 15 at 8:00 a.m. and will remain open until Wednesday, March 18 at 5:00 p.m. for students to come and retrieve any personal belongings they need.

Buildings that are currently open during spring break will remain open through Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. As of 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, all residence halls and apartments will close.

For those students who have no other living option available, an Alternative Housing Request for temporary housing must be made no later than Tuesday, March, 17 at 5:00 p.m. by filling out the form in the Student Housing Portal . To access the form, click on Online Forms in the title bar and then select In Hall Forms from the dropdown. As part of this form, you will need to upload a statement explaining, in detail, your need for alternative housing. Again, residence halls will be accessible for the limited purpose of retrieving essential belongings from Sunday, March 15th at 8:00 a.m. through Wednesday, March 18th at 5:00 p.m. If you are unable to get to campus during this time, please call our office at 662-915-7328 to make alternative arrangements.
