PARKING & VEHICLE INFORMATION FOR MOVE IN

In order to maintain efficient traffic flow, provide room for egress for emergency vehicles, and make everyone’s move in as easy as possible, we ask that you adhere to the below parking and vehicle policies directly related to move in.

All vehicles must be parked in legal parking spaces.

Building Directions

Illegal Parking

Visitor parking passes are not required during move in. Students should park in available residential student parking spaces. Visitors should park at the Ford Center or the Jackson Avenue Center after unloading. The O.U.T. Bus provides transportation to the center of campus from 7:00am to 7:15pm Monday – Friday beginning August 14.

Visitors and students may not park in faculty/staff parking between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday-Friday.

The university reserves the right to remove, impound, or immobilize illegally parked or abandoned vehicles and non-motor vehicles. All vehicles must be parked in available legal spaces.

Trailers

Trailers, campers, and similar non-motor vehicles are not allowed on campus other than those owned and operated by university departments. Failure to comply could result in its immobilization, removal, impoundment, and/or fine, and the owner/operator will be responsible for all costs associated with such actions. This includes POD and similar storage containers.

Drivers of vehicles with trailers attached will be directed to park at the Jackson Avenue Center.

Moving Trucks

Moving trucks are not allowed. Moving vans that fit into our standard parking spaces are allowed.

We have researched options from the top four national moving truck vendors and have found that UHaul offers the only moving van that will fit into our parking spaces (9’ Cargo Van).

Standard parking space: 102” wide x 204” long (Be sure to consider clearance for doors to open.)

Drivers of moving vans that exceed the allowable size and moving trucks will be directed to park at the Jackson Avenue Center.

Recreational Vehicles

Golf carts, utility vehicles, and all-terrain vehicles can be driven on campus only if they are owned and operated by University departments. Such vehicles that are privately owned by students, employees of the University, visitors, or others are prohibited from use on campus. Failure to comply with this rule could result in impoundment of the vehicle, fine, or both.

Delivery Trucks

Delivery trucks are not allowed access to areas around residential buildings.
